Functional Analysts SEPA Direct Debit
1. Context of the mission
The Single European Payment Area - SEPA – aims to work as a single domestic payments market in which
citizens and economic actors will be able to make payments as easily and inexpensively as in their home
country. It consists of the European Union Member States plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and
Switzerland.
Fortis Payments (part of Operations) has implemented a common infrastructure and operations for SEPA
Credit Transfers – in production since January 2008. Fortis Payments (part of Operations) is responsible
for upgrading this infrastructure for SEPA Direct Debits with a mandatory production date of November
2009.
We are actively searching functional analysts to support the ‘business testing component” of this project.
These functional analysts will have to demonstrate a specific profile described below:
2. Period mission
Start Date : ASAP
Duration : 9 months with possible extension.
3. Language requirement
English and of French and/or Dutch is required (spoken & written).
4. Localisation of the job
Brussels (near Central Station)
5. Required knowledge and experience
Required level and content of
education
University graduate or Graduate.
Personal skills
Mandatory: - precision and clarity (oral, written)
- communicative (within team and with IST & other
partners) - knowledge of English is a must
Preferable: - flexibility (in peak periods extra efforts may be
required; willingness to work hard)
- fast learner
- team player
- ability to compromise on solutions with multiple parties
(business, IT)
- (eventually) coaching skills
Business experience required
Mandatory: - 1-3 years of professional experience in banking,
project environment
Preferable:
Technical experience required
Mandatory: - affinity with IT systems and processes
- ability to work with IT department to transfer & explain
specifications to developers
- experience with a banking package is a plus
Preferable:
Functional experience required
Mandatory: - Expertise in functional/technical design, test
preparation & execution, roll-out support (V-model)
- Ability to work with IT department to sign-off software
during the integration testing phases
- Risk awareness (judging severity of incidents)
Preferable: - Experience with defects and incident management
- Experience with change requests management
6. Objective of the job
§ Design and testing (business-side) of the SEPA Direct Debit application including end-to-end
testing with banking channels, account management systems and accounting systems
