Duur opdracht: minimaal 6 maanden (intentie is voor langere periode) (direct een half jaar contract))
Locatie: Utrecht
Uurtarief: 55 - 67.50 euro inclusief reiskosten, exclusief BTW
Taken/rol:
- Provide day-to-day support for the production & development systems and activities in a structured manner;
- Providing production support, 8am - 8pm on a shift basis;
- Providing overnight, and weekend support on a rota basis;
- Monitor capacity, integrity and performance of production systems;
- Install new database servers for both the NT and Solaris environments, understanding the performance and resilience characteristics of
the key hardware/software components and be able to follow standard procedures;
- Implement a suitable backup strategy to support an application;
- Carry out basic performance and tuning at database server level and have an understanding of application level issues;
- Maintain monitoring systems to provide 24×7 cover;
- Modify & maintain existing scripts to handle minor changes in infrastructure;
- Supporting the developers.
Job Requirements
- Experience in upgrade within Sybase;
- An understanding of database logging and recovery and how to recover from the various failure scenarios, include master database
corruption
- A good understanding of testing procedures;
- 3 years experience with an other database (Sybase, MS SQL);
- Performance & Tuning experience;
- Hot/Warm/Cold backups;
- Performance & Tuning of medium to large databases;
- Administration of databases in a Storage Area Network environment;
- Experience with banking and insurance
- Be to transfer their skills to other staff members.
We are looking for a DBA with multi-platform experience, UNIX and NT, to join a core team. It is essential that you have been involved in writing and installing scripts for database administration tasks, such as backups and capacity monitoring. You should have at least 3 years Sybase and / or 2 years MS SQL DBA experience (ideally Sybase Certified) within a multi-platform environment.
