The CSC department MCS (Managed Computing Services) is looking for a Unix Engineer. MCS is responsible for implementation and management of ICT infrastructure for customers.
We deliver the highest possible level of support and consultation to customers, and we also participate in new projects for both existing and new customers.
Responsibilities
· Installation, configuration and tuning of Unix systems.
· You are, as a member of the support team, responsible for all second and third line aspects of the operational support of our current customers.
Competencies
· We require a bachelors’ degree or MBO+.
· At least 2 years experience in a similar position.
· Be an experienced practitioner in various Unix variations like: AIX, Solaris (preference) and Linux.
. Kennis: Solaris 9 & 10
· Knowledge of server hardware, back up solutions and clustering.
· Be a sparring partner for the architect for coming up with solutions concerning infrastructure.
· Experience with ESX (VMware) and Wintel environment is an advantage.
· Knowledge of and experience with ITIL.
· Oral and written skills of English.
· Business- and client focused.
· Be a team player, mobile and flexible.
· Being able to work structured.
· Ability to work during inconvenient and stand by hours.
